Symptom: High Head Pressure

Possible Cause: Air or non-condensables in system.
Corrective Action: Purge non-condensables. Reclaim system and follow system charging instructions.
Possible Cause: Unit is overcharged.
Corrective Action: Review start-up materials, condition, and charge. Reclaim excess charge.
Possible Cause: Water/glycol-cooled units only - low or no water/glycol flow.
Corrective Action: Verify water/glycol balance (unit must be balanced at worst case condition with all valves on system open). Verify all valves are open, strainer is clear, and air is bled off. Verify valve operation and (if applicable) set points and PID settings.
Possible Cause: Water/glycol-cooled units only - condenser clogged or scaled.
Corrective Action: Clean condenser tubes.
Possible Cause: Air-cooled units only - condenser coil is dirty.
Corrective Action: Clean condenser coil and change filters (if applicable for ducted systems).
Possible Cause: Air-cooled units only - airflow is inadequate.
Corrective Action: Verify fan operation and direction, amp draw, and set point/PID settings or P266 settings (if applicable). Verify airflow is not obstructed and is not short-cycling. Verify any dampers are open and air balance (ducted units only).
Possible Cause: Restriction on liquid side.
Corrective Action: Check liquid line for pipe damage. Check filter-dryer and TXV. Repair/replace line set and components as necessary.
