Symptom: Low Head Pressure

Possible Cause: Low refrigerant charge.
Corrective Action: If the unit has completed start-up and has been running properly, check for leaks. Add refrigerant if necessary per charging guidelines.
Possible Cause: Water/glycol-cooled units only - water/glycol flow is too high.
Corrective Action: Verify balancing valves are installed in the system and flow has been balanced to meet submitted flow.
Possible Cause: Water/glycol-cooled units only - water/glycol temperature is too low.
Corrective Action: Verify if unit is provided with a LWT kit (flooded or modulating valve control). Verify valve operation and (if applicable) set points and PID settings.
Possible Cause: Air-cooled units only - ambient temperature is low.
Corrective Action: Verify ambient temperature and whether unit has been provided with a low ambient option (flooded condenser, fan cycling, or VFD control). Verify operation and settings for low ambient option.
Possible Cause: Air-cooled units only - airflow is too high.
Corrective Action: Typically only applies to ducted-units. Verify condenser air balance and VFD set point/PID settings (if applicable).
